Transport to launch Easter Road Safety Campaign in NW

The spokesperson at the Ministry of Transport, Ayanda Paine, in a press release says the Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, will officially launch the 2021 Easter Road Safety Campaign to promote responsible road use during the Easter period and beyond. Paine says the Road Traffic Management Corporation has taken a giant leap towards reinventing law enforcement by introducing a lasting solution to many law enforcement problems in the form of a body-worn camera to be used by officers. “The use of e-enforcement will not only bring about much-needed relief to the fraternity but will also enhance road safety for all road users, especially motorists.

The body-worn camera will be a useful tool in dealing with the high levels of bribery incidents by providing a factual account of events,” she says.

Paine further adds that Mbalula will also hand over 31 vehicles to the North West Province to enhance law enforcement efforts in the province.
