Woman is killed instantly after being hit by a garbage truck in Sydney's west

A woman was killed instantly after she was hit by a garbage truck on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services crews were called to Gurney Road in Chester Hill, in Sydney's west, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by the truck shortly after 8.30am.
Paramedics attempted to revive the woman but she died at the scene, NSW Police stated.
Police have since set up a crime scene and closed Gurney Rd between Miller Rd and Campbell Hill Rd.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
The garbage truck driver has been taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory blood and alcohol tests.
