Oxfordshire has been regularly snubbed by the modern yuletide tradition, though residents could travel to London or Bristol to join in the festive fun. Last year, the truck visited 19 locations throughout November and December.

People have reacted with disappointment to the tweet, one person commenting: "2020 is the year that fun died."

Another declared: "Christmas is cancelled."

But many said it was the advert that was the true signal holidays are coming, one person stating the news 'sums up 2020' but: "However, 'the ad' is technically the start of Christmas for me!"
