Live updates as road closed and multiple fire engines called to 'incident'

A road in Gedling village was closed by the emergency services after a man fell from a height. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service says a number of appliances attended the incident in Main Road, including a specialist rescue team and the aerial ladder platform. The road was completely closed as of 11.47am on Wednesday, March 11.

The fire service said: "We currently have a number of appliances in attendance at Main Road, Gedling, the road is currently closed. "Please plan your route and avoid the area whilst we deal with this incident." The incident is also affected buses.

Nottingham City Transport added: "Main Road, between Arnold Lane and Westdale Lane in Gedling has been closed. "Red 44 are diverting via Westdale Lane, Holyoake Road and Shelford Road towards Gedling. Towards city buses will use Shearing Hill and Burton Road."
